Thank you for such a touching story, when I read the obituary I saw that he lived in Woburn, I remember a Roger Cook from when I was in 4th grade at the Plympton Elementary school and wonder if it’s the same Roger ? The reason I remember so well is he asked if he could sing a song from Sunday school and my teacher Miss Cahill said sure AND he proceeded to sing ‘I’m HAPPY” a cute little song that I remember to this day; I even sang it to my own kids !! I’d love to know if it was him ….? (Thanks again for a great story , I hope your wife is doing well)
Thank you for your note Kathy. I only remember Roger discussing being born in Maine and growing up in Burlington, but his obituary lists living in Woburn for a time too, so it sounds like it was him. I love that you still remember the song!
Thank you for publishing your personal experience with Roger. He was always one of my favorite people on the show as he was so down to earth. I remember having watched him on occasional appearances when I was you mad then seeing him become the full time landscape contractor. I never met him but know people that grew up with him and were friends with him. It is great that his sage advice is recorded in the TOH archives and seen in reruns and online video. My prayers are with his family and friends at this difficult time.
Thank you for sharing your memories🫶. You brought tears to my eyes & my heart hurts for all of you. It’s really a tuff thing to know what to share with others or the world, kind people don’t want to put a weight on others hearts so we keep things to our selves sometimes. Roger really wanted people to know he cared. What an amazing guy. Thank you so much for sharing some of your times with Roger. I’m so sorry for you loss🙏🏼❣️💐
