Oh wow- I hadn't heard of Mount Trashmore, but there might be a deeper dive worth exploring there! We stayed at a campground in the Hudson Valley that was adjacent to a capped landfill, but I don't think the landfill section was accessible. A number of landfills near us have become solar fields too, which is a good reuse of otherwise unusable space. But I agree, we need to consume MUCH less than we are now!!

It's been there a long time. I lived there in the early 80s and it was already a fully complete skate park.
